JOY is a new strand of the Hammersmith and Fulham Arts Festival (HF ArtsFest) celebrating local disabled artists within the community. JOY will be showcasing not only those disabled artists already established within the community, but will reach out to emerging disabled artists and those that have not previously been involved in the arts.

If you would like to be involved in JOY either as a school, community group, an artist or a performer in Tales of JOY – then get in touch with Kelly by calling 020 8964  5060, or email

How to get involved with JOY:

JOY is offering creative workshops for Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools in  the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. From April, we plan to run whichever art  form the school requests to help the students reach their creative potential. The  workshops will be run by local artists in the area. This artwork will be displayed  during the week of the HF ArtsFest.

JOY is offering creative workshops for disabled community groups in the borough of  Hammersmith and Fulham. From April, we plan to run whichever art form the  community group requests to help the members explore a new creative outlet and  reach their creative potential. The workshops will be run by local artists. This  artwork will be displayed during the week of the HF ArtsFest.

Apply for the JOY Programme
As part of HF ArtsFest, the JOY programme will be hosted by the Lyric Hammersmith  from Wednesday 6th June – Saturday 9th June. We are looking for disabled artists  who would like to perform their own material or run workshops in this period. If you  would like to apply to be part of the JOY programme, then download and fill in an  application form.

Tales of JOY
On the 9th June 2018, Tales of Joy will premier in the Lyric Square. This will be a new piece of theatre directed by the borough’s own international choreographer  Wolfgang Stange. Stange has created a world-wide reputation through his  teaching and directing methods which have the same values as JOY; using creativity to share and acknowledge each other’s abilities, whether disabled of not.

Tales of Joy is looking to cast an integrated group of performers from the borough of  Hammersmith and Fulham. We are looking for performers of all ages and abilities who want to take part. If more than 25 people apply, there will be a random  selection process – names out of a hat. To apply, you must be able to attend the following rehearsals:
