Windrush Reminiscence Room - Storytelling for Children

Reminiscence Rooms are powerful tools for helping people recall their memories. They allow individuals  to become more confident and engaged in society, and share stories of yesteryear, reconnecting with the community and combating social isolation.

Showpatrol and Nubian GLU bring a little taste of their Reminiscence Room to the Shepherds Bush Library with artefacts and pieces especially sourced to trigger memories of the Windrush Years from the 50s to 1970s.  We'll have some tales from back in the day and information of things to come. So if you appreciate history and want a taste of the good old days come along, listen up and share some stories. Youth Volunteers welcome.

This is an immersive experience you’ll never forget. Step back in time with us!
