Economic recession and fear caused by Covid-19 has made countries increasingly hostile. Refugee camps are overcrowded and unhygienic with limited access to water. So ‘too many in one room’ becomes ‘too many in one boat’. Many won’t survive the flimsy vessels. Their lives appear as disposable as the masks discarded on the pavements of cities where they had hoped to create a secure and better life.
I am a Nigerian-British artist. I graduated in 2018 with a Fine Art degree from Loughborough University. My preferred medium is sculpture and I enjoy including fabrics in my work. I am hearing-impaired and my love of art began at my secondary school- Mary Hare. I love street dancing and I volunteer at Lyric Theatre-DanceWest.
