Made during the April 2020 lockdown, when much of my time time was spent looking out of windows. Thoughts and memories seemed framed and distilled beyond the actual window of my home. The outside world, alongside nature and the light of each day became ever more important during these weeks of lockdown that was permeated by so much interior time.
I live and work in Hammersmith & Fulham. My work has been exhibited widely since the early 1970s. Using acrylic or gouache paint and working on canvas or paper, I use colour, line and form to present evocative and contemplative images. These images are reminiscent of the nature that inspire them as well as the inevitable transience of life. Nostalgia for earlier times also plays a part.
