I began drawing the Amici Dance Theatre Company dancers in their classes, rehearsals and performances. Most of my Amici drawings are of people in motion. Some of these drawings I use as a basis for oil paintings.
I studied at York Art School in 1963, then at the Royal Academy. My connection with Amici Dance Theatre Company dates from 1989, when I met Amici’s founder and director, Wolfgang Stange. I remember this clearly, as it coincided with the falling of the Berlin Wall - Wolfgang himself being a Berliner.
